Camping Nudist Vrboska is situated right on a rocky beach, on the Dalmation island of Hvar. Regular ferries transfer holidaymakers and their vehicles from the mainland to what is said to be the sunniest island in the country. The site – which has extensive facilities for 420 visitors, including a shop, restaurant and bar – caters for tents, caravans and motorhomes. For those who enjoy being on water in just their skin, a range of watersports is available. An adjacent textile site – Autocamp Mlaska – has even more facilities.

The Clothing Optional Resort in Nosara, Costa Rica, offers attractive studios and two-bedroom condos, each with kitchen and private patio / balcony, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The all au naturel retreat opens for its second season next month, on 10th February, 2012. Situated on top of a hill above Playa Pelada, with impressive vistas and cooling breezes – privacy, peace and quiet are the order of the day.

Close to the Spanish border, and situated at an altitude of 700m in the Vallespir Valley, Domain Mas Can Prim has two naturist-friendly gîtes / apartments for rent. There are fine views of the mountains in all directions. Gourmet breakfasts and multi-course dinners are prepared using unprocessed and unsprayed organic produce from the vegetable garden and orchard. Vedsølejren FKK, is a family naturist club in the heart of Jutland, Denmark, near the city of Viborg, where the campsite – Solsportsforeningen – is by lake Vedsø.

NFJ Naturist/FKK Camping is at Kysing Strand, close to Odder on the east coast of Jutland (to the south of Aarhus). The attractive site is next to the beach.

According to Don and Pat, who operate the Chaparral Resort in Texas, “If you are a free spirit you will enjoy what awaits you – we offer a clothing optional stay in a totally private and secluded setting, or just a quiet get away – the choice is yours”. Located 34 miles south-west of Fort Worth, and half way between historic Granbury and Weatherford, the secluded suites with covered patios offer comfortable accommodation and an extensive choice of leisure facilities.

Located at Rocles, in the Ardèche region of southern France, La Berle Gîtes are Dutch-owned, and most of the guests are naturists! In addition to comfortable accommodation, there’s a hot tub, sauna and swimming pool for bathing in the buff. The two properties are La Clède and La Grange, which each sleep up to 4 people and baby.

Described as ‘Heavans Gate’, The Thai House in south-west Andalucia, has its own divine meditation garden with balinese day beds and a pond of lotus flowers; together with a natural fresh water spring for bathing. But, perhaps best of all, there’s a virtually private nudist beach just 10 minutes’ walk from the house. Not cheap, but it looks quite special and might be worth investigating.

Situated 350 metres above sea level at the village of Andorinha, near Oliveira do Hospital, Quinta das Oliveira, is set in 8.5 acres, and offers naturist camping for just ten units. Additionally, the owners have a few caravans to rent and a fully-equipped chalet for up to four people. There is an attractive terrace around the pool, as well as a bar and reception area. The Forest Spa is for couples who enjoy making use of the sauna, hot tub and relaxation room the way the Finnish do, without swimming costumes. This will suit naturists and others, who simply like to use a sauna as it was intended.

The naturist owners, Simon and Ruth, also offer B&B accommodation at the property in the Forest of Dean, to those who would like to stay overnight following a spa evening.

Casa il Cantico is a naturist mini-agriturismo situated on the northflank of the Promontorio del Gargano in the region Puglia in the south-east of Italy. A holiday apartment is available to rent and camping is offered in the orchard close to the large swimming pool. The owners say the property is suited for people who enjoy tranquility, space and privacy.

Another pair of private villas with pools on the Canarian island of Lanzarote – in the Puerto del Carmen area – suitable for holidaying au naturel.

According to the website for Villa Jenifer ‘The sunbathing area is 100% private and ideal for naturists‘. Sleeping 2-6 people, the fully equipped 3-bedroomed accommodation also includes a handy wi-fi internet connection.

And the three-bedroomed Los Mojones Villa is described as having a spacious terrace with covered seating and sunbathing areas, including heated pool and jacuzzi/hot tub. The terraces are completely private and suitable for naturists.

Samantha and Mark Taylor, British naturists who operate the highly successful Vassaliki Naturist Club on the Greek island of Kefalonia, are opening their new naturist spa resort in the winelands of the Western Cape, in South Africa on 10 December 2011. Vasnat Club Hotel is a purpose built state-of-the-art resort, set in 7500m2 of varied flora and surrounded by extensive forests and fine mountain vistas.

Accommodation includes eight luxury hotel suites, four well appointed self catering cottages and an indulgent penthouse suite. With warm balmy days averaging 30 degrees and 14 hours of sunshine throughout the months of December to March, the all-year-round resort will no doubt prove to be a particularly welcome new winter destination for nudists living in the northern hemisphere.

This eco-friendly one-bedroomed property at Lubbers Quarters Cay, off the island of Abaco in the Bahamas, would suit anyone seeking a Robinson Crusoe lifestyle. Moonrise Cottage has its own private clothes-optional beach. The owner says the accommodation is a naturists’ delight!

Set in Playa Blanca near the southern tip of Lanzarote, Casa Alana has three bedrooms and a sparkling pool surrounded by extensive sun terraces. The villa is described by the owners as 100% secluded and private – perfect for Naturists.

Villa Veyrines at Veyrines de Domme – just 3km from the Dordogne river – is set in 1 hectre of grounds and has two sun terraces and its own swimming pool.

Les Chauses is a secluded cottage again with its own pool in 2 acres of grounds, at the end of a small track with no passing traffic. The property is peaceful and totally private.

Parque Acuático de Córdoba – Aquasierra at Villafrance de Córdoba, about 20 km from the capital of the province, has made special provision for bare bathers. Theresa O’Shea, writing in the August edition of H&E magazine, describes a 3,500 sq metre area set aside for naturists, which includes two swimming pools, a nude sunbathing zone and a shaded relaxation area.

A brand new family-friendly Naturist Campsite and Holiday Centre is due to open next month in the heart of the Lot Valley region of the Midi-Pyrenees, France. Domaine de Bourrat is situated in the Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy, just off Junction 56 of the A20 motorway, and about 20 minutes South-East of Gourdon. Set in 88 acres with far reaching views, there will be space for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Accommodation is also available in a mobile home, a gite and a yurt! A good-sized swimming pool and 9-hole golf course are amongst the range of attractions.

In addition to the usual facilities at the three-star Sol La Palma Apartments, at Puerto Naos on the Canarian island of La Palma, the property offers a naturist sunbathing terrace. We understand the nudist area is restricted to guests over 16 years of age.

The Hotel Occidental Grand, which is listed in The World’s Best Nude Beaches and Resorts (page 153) has a new owner and a new name. It is now called the Hotel Club Magic Life and the good news is that the naturist area – with swimming pool, terrace and sauna – has been retained and improved.

The 128 apartment Valamar Diamant Residence at Pula in Istria, Croatia includes an extensive ‘Wellness Centre’ offering a range of treatments. The property also boasts a designated nudist area within the health centre.
