Camping Las Grullas is a naturist campsite in the heart of Extremadura – close to a number of Unesco cultural sites – which will open on 1 April 2015. It is situated on an old estate amongst holly oaks and granite formations. The well-equipped camping area extends to 2.6 hectare, and is 2.5 km from any through roads, so peace and quiet is assured. It is unsuitable for children under 16.

We have been in touch with a contact who has recommended an official nude beach – Corinto-Malvarrosa – around 250 metres along the shore from Camping Malvarrosa de Corinto. Located on the northern outskirts of the municipality of Sagunto in Valencia Province, the pleasant but relatively quiet beach has local road signs providing directions. The golden shore is a mix of fine and coarse sand. Our contact mentioned that during their recent stay at the beachside campsite, naturists were enjoying the freedom to ‘relax au natural’ directly in front of it.

Playa Marina, a short distance west of Fuengirola, has been established as a welcome bare beach – which is a new one to us – on the sunny south coast of one of Spain’s favourite playgrounds. It is almost a kilometre long and has a drinks kiosk serving refreshments in season. Whilst easily accessible, a possible drawback is the A7 motorway that roars directly past at the back of the beach. (Google translation)

Described as a rustic Spanish hideaway, this large ‘off-grid’ villa with a pool is set in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada on a 28-acre plot in the Alpujarran countryside. Reduced rates are available for smaller groups of up to 4 people. With extensive fruit and olive groves, together with lovely views, Cortijo Ranchito is – according to the owners – perfect for naturist holidays.

Located in the Axarquía region, east of Malaga, Casa Panoramica is a Dutch-owned villa, with a ground floor apartment available for rent by the swimming pool. Five miles inland from the coast, but described as having stunning views, the accommodation is suitable for naturists. It is also handy for the Almanat bare beach on the outskirts of Torre del Mar. New management at Costa Natura – the popular naturist resort on the Costa del Sol – have launched a website which for the first time allows holidaymakers to see and book individual apartments. Each available property has a comprehensive set of internal and external photographs, together with a description of the location within the resort. (World’s Best Nude Beaches page 118)

Andy and Corrine have been in touch to tell us about their new venture  in Andalucia, southern Spain – 40 minutes from Malaga. Finca Natura is an  intimate all-inclusive naturist property with three en-suite apartments, built around an attractive pool. There is also a jacuzzi, and stables with 5 horses, all set in 70 acres of private grounds. Meals and drinks are included in the price.

Casa Cruz consists of a cortijo and a casita which – according to the owners – offer naturist bliss. The larger cortijo can accommodate six people; and the casita has a double bedroom for two. Set in private grounds with a swimming pool, the two units are each self-contained and can be rented separately or together. The inland location is 15-minutes from the motorway, 40 from Granada and 90-minutes’ drive from Seville.

Naturist-friendly La Huerta Villa is built on a hill between the El Borge and Almáchar rivers in the Axarquía region of southern Andalucia. With comfortable accommodation for up to six people, it is only 15 km from the sea and Almanat nude beach at Torre del Mar (World’s Best Nude Beaches p 120). The accommodation is set in attractive grounds with a large pool and fine views.

Manuel Calvo has been in touch to tell us about his two holiday apartments in the ‘Torremar Natura’ naturist complex, at Vera Playa. One is on the ground floor, and the other is above it on the first floor. Apparently, according to Manuel, the ground-floor apartment is suitable for wheelchair users and is close to the swimming pool.

We have heard from Barry that he’s just returned from an enjoyable ‘alternative’ holiday at Cortijo Romero, at Orgiva, in southern Spain. A range of activities and experiences were on offer including: Yoga, Tai Chi, Expressive Dance, Chanting, Creative Writing workshops, local walks and excursions. Apparently, the pool is a curved, natural shape in a picturesque walled enclosure with palm trees, flowers and the scent of jasmine. The area is completely private, so swimming costumes are optional. According to Barry, a number of guests took advantage of sunbathing au naturel and swimming in the buff.

With the demise of Camping Almanzora at Vera Playa a couple of years ago, it is very good to hear that naturist camping will be available once again, this time at the nearby Cuevas Mar – from the 2013 season onwards. The site is reasonably handy for the naturist beach, which is just a few hundred yards away.

Naturist-friendly accommodation is available at the Dutch-owned Casa Emma, in Hondón de las Nieves, on the Costa Blanca. There is a studio and an apartment available to rent. The property enjoys plenty of seclusion and has an attractive pool, and a good sized sunbathing terrace. Extensive countryside views are available from the grounds.

Retired British naturists – Brian and Gloria – offer holiday accommodation in a one-bedroomed Casita, which is screened from but adjacent to their own property. Situated on an olive farm 5km inland on the Costa Dorada; it is in a tranquil setting amongst olive and orange groves, with views of the Ebro Delta and mountains. The garden, pool, and patios are described as secluded and can be enjoyed clothing optional.

Pampering breaks and clothes-optional holidays are on offer at the British-owned Greenwood Villa B&B, situated in a rural location 5 minutes from Javea Port. Guests can choose between self-catering, or having meals provided. Luxury spa treatments, massage and a Canadian hot-tub are available; additionally, the whole property is child-free. A solar heated pool, surrounded by sunbathing terraces provide for au naturel relaxation.

Fancy somewhere for an extended-family get-together or a party with your naturist friends – the Pradera Estate, in Andalucia, southern Spain, could be just the place! The estate has two big rural fincas, sleeping up to 22 people, with a large swimming pool as the center feature; and lush gardens leading out to olive groves, with far-reaching views of the mountains. Perfect for sunning au naturel and bathing in the buff.

This British-owned 3-bed family villa in rural Andalucia has a completely secluded private swimming pool and barbecue area. According to one published guest review: “The pool which is located at the rear of the property is to die for…  …perfect for skinny dipping!”

The Javea property is traditional finca-style villa with over 15000 m (almost 4 acres) of land in the Montgo National Park. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms – the outdoor space, including the pool, is very private and ideal for naturists. The asking price is €500,000 Euro.
