The adult-only naturist retreat Finca Xanadu, situated high on a hillside surrounded by almond and olive groves and pines, overlooks the town of Velez Rubio below. It has few neighbours and is not overlooked, although there are far-reaching views from the terrace. Owners, Gina and Richard, offer four en-suite rooms for guests and all-inclusive board.

A recently refurbished budget hotel with a rooftop nudist solarium, including a bar and hot tub, is now available in Malaga, in Andalucia, southern Spain. Hostal Ciudad Jardín is 3km from the city centre but has a bus station and taxi rank directly opposite.

The Spanish Naturist Federation (FEN) has updated its website which now includes a comprehensive map-based guide to the hundreds of nude beaches in Spain and the islands.

Due to popular demand, Stephen and Chris have further expanded their naturist vacation portfolio at Vera Playa. They have just been in touch to advise a third holiday property – Apartment Mediterráneo – has been added, in addition to Apartments Miro and Almodóvar. The new and impressively refurbished penthouse accommodation is directly adjacent to the nude beach and boasts panoramic sea views.

We have been in contact with the naturist-friendly owners of Good Life Farm – a 6 hectare finca located at the top of a valley, near the town of Flix, in Catalonia. The property is completely secluded and enjoys far reaching views. Currently olives, almonds and figs are grown, together with recently introduced orange, lemon and avocado trees. A pleasant detached 2-bedroomed Casa is available for holiday rental by one or two couples. Naturists are especially welcome during August. Plans are also in hand to develop a small campsite.

Nigel, the owner of  Casa Cal Domino , has been in touch with us. The large private villa has 4 bedrooms and is situated near Palamos, on Spain’s Costa Brava. The luxury property which is totally private and suitable for naturists, has a video entrance system and wireless broadband internet access. Located 3km from the sea overlooking the medieval village of Calonge, with views of the Mediterranean and mountains. In the grounds a hot tub spa and heated infinity pool can be enjoyed in the buff.

Hillside Villa is situated in a mountainous area 3km from the town of Crevillente on the Costa Blanca, 20 minutes drive from Alicante airport, and 40 minutes from Murcia airport. There’s a pool and terrace to soak up the atmosphere of the area or enjoy al-fresco dining in the Spanish sunshine. According to the owners, Lyndis and Leo, “not everyone wishes to be restricted by clothes and in the villa and it’s grounds that is not a problem.” Apparently, a discount is available on production of a naturist clubcard.

The fully clothing-optional Vakantie Villas at Buzon, in the Jalon district of the Costa Blanca, consist of 4 independent properties in 1.25 acres of landscaped gardens, 15 minutes from the coast. There is a large shared swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath at the mini-resort.  Owners, Helen and Richard, advise that their prices are especially competitive for the area and are inclusive of all services. Sally and Steve offer an attractive three-bedroom holiday property – Cortijo El Chaparro – in Granada Provence, southern Spain that would prove ideal for naturists. Reformed to a high standard in 2015: together with a pool and extensive grounds, the villa is located in a rural setting equidistant from Malaga and Granada – less than 55 miles from each. The hosts live in a separate property on site and can provide assistance or local information if required.

We have just uncovered an appealing new naturist guesthouse in Catalonia, Spain. Hotel EXUS NATUR is situated in an attractive nineteenth century rural farmhouse, in the heart of Girona, just 5 km from well-known nudist beaches on the Costa Brava. According to the owners, it is a good place to unwind from the daily routine and spend a relaxing vacation as a couple. Accommodation is for adults and older children (+15). Ecological cuisine is on offer using fruit and vegetables harvested from the garden.

An attractive holiday house with use of a swimming pool on the owner’s farm, between the villages of Alhendín and Las Gabias, just 10km from the centre of the historic city of Granada. Cortijo Algabia has two large en-suite bedrooms, a lounge and well-equipped kitchen. Private undercover parking is provided and according to the owners, “people wishing to practice naturism will find privacy and plenty of quiet areas“. (Google English translation)

Stable Cottage is located in the mountain area of Monda in the countryside of Andalucia, southern Spain, just above the resort of Marbella. The self-catering holiday property which sleeps up to 4, is set on its own, away from the main residence and is described as:  “Ideal for naturists, artists, walkers, photographers, horse riders/enthusiasts, those who fancy a quiet and relaxing holiday, or those who like to party into the early hours…”. The cottage apparently enjoys amazing views and total privacy. A swimming pool, wi-fi and plenty of parking are further attractions.

We’re delighted to see the appealing 5-star Montiboli Hotel at Villajoyosa, on the Costa Blanca, now actively promoting its location next to the official nudist beach Playa L’Esparrelló. The hotel stands on a low cliff overlooking the naturist zone, and has a set of private steps providing direct access. The beach and hotel are described in The World’s Best Nude Beaches (p.128).

Set in remote countryside, in the heart of the Costa Brava, La Roureda, is thirty minutes from Girona, and about an hour from Barcelona. This historic manor house dates back in parts to 1377, but now offers all the comforts of modern living. It can accommodate up to twelve guests and there is a naturist-friendly, non-chlorinated pool.

A totally reformed finca with a stylish interior in a Spanish farming hamlet – Cortijo Blanco – is about 4 kms from town of Periana in the Axarquia region of Andalucia. The accommodation can accommodate up to 6 people, and there is a private pool with roman steps surrounded by a good sized area for very private sunbathing, which according to the owner, is suitable for naturists. There is also a large roof terrace which has 360 degree views of the Andalucian countryside.

This fascinating and productive ecological Finca El Morisco owned by Germans – Alexander and Darja Hüglin – offers a variety of family-friendly accommodation. It is not naturist per se, but it does offer a FKK nudist sunbathing terrace and sauna as part of the on-site wellness centre. There is a restaurant which provides vegetarian cuisine created in the main using ingredients from their garden.Working holidays are also available in exchange for board, accommodation and a small wage (min 4 weeks).

A small new Dutch enterprise overlooking the Guadalahorce valley near Cartama, a short distance inland from Malaga, is offering funky clothing-optional glamping – Bohemia Natura. Stay in ‘pimped-up’ vintage caravans, or even a crazy tent on top of an old-timer Landrover! There’s a swimming pool, a bar, help-yourself fruit trees, and campfires. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided.

The 4-star, German-owned, Hotel Aldiana Alcaidesa at Alcaidesa, San Roque, just north of Gibraltar, offers a nudist terrace amongst its extensive range of facilities. Additionally, part of the nearby beach towards Punta Mala is used by bare bathers and is listed in ‘The World’s Best Nudist Beaches’ (page 118).

From July Laurent and Johanna will be welcoming holidaymakers to stay at their new naturist guest house – Finca Johanna – at Coin, in the Province of Málaga, Andalucia.
