News reaches us of a new official naturist beach on the Italian island of Elba – Acquarilli, at Lacona. Detailed directions on the ‘Italia Naturista’ website. Approved by the local authority in 2015, the beach is remote and currently without facilities, so take shade and refreshments. Location GPS: Lat: N42.763524, Long: E10.334364.

Casale Terranera claims to be the first naturist agritourism venture associated with the Italian Naturist Federation (FENAIT) and is situated in the popular Tuscany region. The 40-acre organic farm offers a holiday home for rental and is described as a relaxing natural place, in a wild environment. There are two swimming pools, a sauna and tennis courts for guests to use. Additionally trekking on the farm’s horses is on offer and there are hot springs nearby. Visitors can also bring their own tent and pitch up. The property is by the village of Montenero and close to Montalcino and Mount Amiata.

Bas and Domenica, from the Netherlands, are the proud owners of the Sasso Corbo eco-campsite. With their four young sons, they say they dreamt of having a naturist place in a foreign country, which has now become a reality. The 23-hectare site, complete with swimming pool and a range of other facilities is at Semproniano in Tuscany. A ready-erected tent is available to hire for anybody without their own equipment.

Dutch owners, Johanna Noyon and her husband Ton van Schaik, rent two holiday cottages on the borders of the Liguria and Piedmont regions of Italy that are suitable for naturists. The estate is 35km from the Mediterranean coast. Mulino is a former mill that was restored in 2011 and sleeps from two to six people, whilst the Rustico cottage has two bedrooms. Both secluded properties have shared use of the family swimming pool.

It’s in a private site with attractive gardens and offers guests: camping, bungalow accommodation and B&B. The old farmhouse, which dates back more than a century, has been fully restored.

According to recent media reports in Italy and the UK, the attractive and long-used nude beach at Lido di Dante (World’s Best Nude Beaches – page 230) is being closed by the Mayor. Fabrizio Matteucci has told nudists to make themselves decent or risk a €50 euro fine.

There is large swimming pool and according to the owner: ‘with plenty of privacy, it’s suitable for naturists‘. Il Camino is a neighboring three bedroomed cottage.
