Camping Nudist Vrboska is situated right on a rocky beach, on the Dalmation island of Hvar. Regular ferries transfer holidaymakers and their vehicles from the mainland to what is said to be the sunniest island in the country. The site – which has extensive facilities for 420 visitors, including a shop, restaurant and bar – caters for tents, caravans and motorhomes. For those who enjoy being on water in just their skin, a range of watersports is available. An adjacent textile site – Autocamp Mlaska – has even more facilities.

The 128 apartment Valamar Diamant Residence at Pula in Istria, Croatia includes an extensive ‘Wellness Centre’ offering a range of treatments. The property also boasts a designated nudist area within the health centre.

Built right next to the sea in Solotiša Bay, on the stunning Croatian island of Hvar, House Demetrio is said to be ideal for naturists. The surrounding pebbly beaches are widely used for sunbathing and swimming au naturel.

Still in Croatia, on the neighbouring island of Brac, Villa Rosemarine boasts 7 bedrooms and fine views, so suitable for a larger group of friends. One of the two spacious terraces of the luxury waterfront property is described as suitable for nude sunbathing.

A new eco-friendly and clothes-optional campsite will open in August 2009 in Montenegro in the southern Adriatic, just 30 minutes’ drive from Dubrovnik airport. Club Full Monte is owned by a British couple – Steve and Denise – and is set against a backdrop of the Orijen Masif mountains with views across the Sutorina valley. The 8-hectare site includes a natural spring, stream, terraced meadows and oak woodlands where visitors can be naked in nature. Plenty of low-cost airline routes from the UK with: easyJet, Flybe, Jet2, Thomsonfly and FlyGlobespan.

On the Croatian island Hvar, in the center of the Dalmatian archipelago, about 4km from Sucuraj harbor, lies Mlaska bay autocamp. Set beside the sea, half of the campsite is reserved for naturists (fkk). Accommodation is available in rustic wooden bungalows.

Nick & Barbara Stanley contacted us to recommend a nude beach in southern Croatia on the tiny island of Badija, offshore from the larger island of Korcula. According to Nick, ‘This long-standing FKK beach is host to some of the most wonderful coastal scenery in Croatia. Never over-crowded, it really is a peaceful naturist and, curiously, naturalist paradise!’ Badija is only about one kilometer square and covered by dense maquis and pine, cypresses and olive trees. Valamar Hotels, which operates a number of naturist resorts in northern Croatia has recently produced videos for three of their nudist properties: Solaris, Naturist Camping Istra and Camp Politin (on the island of Krk). NB: The video links are at the bottom left corner of the large image for each resort.

This large 3-star textile campsite which can accommodate almost five thousand holidaymakers is situated just outside the Istrian resort of Rovinj. It includes a dedicated nudist area – Punta Eva – providing pitches for those who prefer their relaxation in the buff. Camp Polari has its own 2-km long rocky shoreline, part of which is clothing optional and designated FKK. The site is owned and managed by the same company as the renowned naturist resort of Koversada.

Located in the small holiday resort of Promajna south of Split on the western Makarska Riviera, the 4-star hotel Conte offers a secluded nudist terrace on the roof.

The 3-star Ulika campsite is on a peninsular 8km north of Porec on the Istrian coast of Croatia. Caravans and air-conditioned mobile homes are available to rent for anybody not bringing their own accommodation. Catering is available on-site and there’s a blue flag naturist beach of pebbles and some rocky areas smoothed with concrete for sunbathing.
