Palac Saturna Hotel near Katowice in Poland has the Termy Rzymskie spa. The facilities are extensive with 5 different saunas, steam rooms, thermal pool, laconium and other relaxation areas, small swimming pools as well as the option to pay for additional treatments and massage. Outside there are hot tubs, an unheated pool and in the summer a sunbathing area. Swimming costumes are not allowed, but you are asked to wear a towel or robe in the corridors and bar area. Easily reached by bus from Katowice, 911 passes the door and the more frequent 11 and 61 stop at ‘Raymondo’ nearby.

Zuiver Spa Hotel, located next to the Bosbaan lake within the Amsterdam forest, is 20 minutes from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport by taxi, and is handy for Amsterdam city centre and the canals.

Free entry to the naked spa is included for overnight guests; and additionally access to the gym, fitness classes and yoga. The spa has 6 saunas, 3 steam rooms, a large swimming pool that is both indoors and outdoors, several hot tubs indoors and out, plunge pools, a warm stone bed area, a jacuzzi style bath area with separated individual lying spaces, a large relaxing area and bar upstairs, and a downstairs restaurant with outside terrace.  There is a large garden with sun loungers. The Hotel Albatros, at Ulcinj, in Montenegro, indicates on its website that it has access to three beaches,: a public beach, a nudist beach, and a womens’ beach.

The Dobrá Lúka naturist campsite is at an old farm in a rural area in the hills of southern Slovakia. The farmhouse is partially restored but many ancient details have been preserved.  There is a heated pool, sauna, terrace and living room. Often seen at the back-to-nature location are: deer, wild boar, foxes and dozens of different species of birds. There is a choice of accommodation, in addition to camping pitches.

FKK Sportpark, Sonnensee, Hannover, in Lower Saxony, claims to be one of the largest naturist sites in Europe with 700 pitches! Situated beside a large and attractive lake with a family-friendly sandy beach, the club offers a choice of holiday accommodation, as well as plenty of pitches for visiting campers and caravanners. Opportunities for naturist campers are limited in the Czech Republic, so a recommendation from the Alan Rogers Camping Guide is welcome. MléčnáDráha is a 12-hectare, Dutch-owned, site with 80 pitches in southern Bohemia providing extensive facilities amidst pleasant scenery and near a number of local attractions. It is popular with families, especially the river-fed natural swimming pool. Previously a farm, the open and sloping site has a number of mini-terraces creating fine views. Catering is available on site, with breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.

FKK Haldenmühle and the Family Sports Community Allgäu eV in Bavaria, southern Germany, comes highly recommended by the Alan Rogers Camping Guide. The family friendly not-for-profit members’ club welcomes visitors, who can stay in the on-site guest house, where there is a restaurant and bar. Naturist Camp Mali Raj (which means ‘Small Paradise’ in Slovenian) is located in Dolenje Polje near Dolenjske Toplice on the northern bank of the river Krka, surrounded by attractive countryside. The secluded site offers naked canoeing on the river, in addition to the normal campsite facilities.

This long-established naturist club on the western outskirts of Innsbruck, in the heart of the Austrian Tyrol, can accommodate holidaying campers, caravanners and motorhomers by prior reservation. Liga Völs club has a well-run restaurant, bar, club house, swimming pool, and a children’s playground with sandpit, carousel, swings and toys. It goes without saying that the club is surrounded by inspiring Alpine scenery.

Camping Wyzwanie has recently come to our attention. The managers – Ria and Hans Hemmes – are keen nudists and have recently made a dedicated naturist area within the 69-acre site. Situated centrally in the rural area of Bory Tycholski, next to the river Wda, Camping Wyzwanie offers good facilities in attractive countryside.

Roelf and Fred offer naturist-friendly B&B in a luxurious self-contained apartment set in pretty gardens at Hooghalen, in the heart of Drenthe, between Assen and Beilen. The owners make it clear on their website that clothes are optional with naturists welcome; and the sunbeds on  the terrace provide undisturbed sunshine. The holiday resort Elsendorp comes with all the facilities and amenities of a highly rated Dutch naturist centre. With a large natural outdoor pool and sandy beach, an indoor pool, play areas for the children and modern comfortable chalet accommodation – it would make an ideal family holiday destination. Camping Terme Lendava, in the east of Slovenia, offers naturist camping during early and late season – the price list on the website indicates the dates available – minimum stay 3 nights. Guests can use the wellness centre and even choose a half-board option whilst camping (breakfast and dinner).

The first is a small lake with plenty of sunbathing lawns and sand, in the north of the historic town of Pirna near Dresden, at ‘Natursee Pirna‘. There is free parking for users of the lake (entrance off Äußere Pillnitzer Straße). Very relaxed feel to the place, with mixed textile and naked bathers, and not busy on the two occasions we visited in August 2014.

The second are the natural lidos in the mountains and forests of the Harz region in the centre of the country. Some of these pools are officially “FKK”, though most aren’t, but are quiet enough that you may find yourself the only person there. And given the laid back attitude of the Germans, it’s quite likely that no eyebrows would be raised if you did just plunge in naked after a walk in the forest.

Ulrike and Karl Heinz offer bed and breakfast at their small naturist guest house – Koala 49 – on the northern edge of the Black forest, not far from Baden Baden. One of the rooms is equipped with a kitchen for self-catering. There is a garden for relaxing outside and also a sauna and spa tub.

Mark and Margo den Houting have opened what they claim to be the first naturist campsite in Slovakia – Dobrá Lúka.They also offer accommodation in caravans, an apartment and a Gypsy wagon! There is a sauna and a heated above-ground pool: the well-equipped site has been developed around an ancient farm. The summer climate is generally hot.

Opened in 2009, Camping Auenweg is located on the outskirts of the town of the same name near Klagenfurt, in the Kärnten region of Austria. With modern facilities, the naturist site is located alongside a small lake, which is used for swimming. (website in German only)

Located a handy 25-minute drive from Dunkirk, a first-floor naturist holiday apartment is available for INF card-holding members. The property is within walking distance of the beach at Koksijde – Oostduinkerke, Belgium, and is Dutch owned. The pretty garden has plenty of sun loungers and it’s own pool.

Naturista Sziget is an interesting small naturist resort on the island of Szentendrei in the River Danube, some 25km from Budapest. The family-friendly centre has a range of facilities on offer, including skinny-dipping in the river and an opportunity to go sailing in the buff. Holiday accommodation is provided mainly in wooden chalets and all INF members welcome.

Situated at Sinsheim – to the southeast of Heidelberg – the well equipped Camping Hilsbachtal is set amidst the gently sloping hills of Kraichgau. It provides 250 generously sized camping and caravanning spaces on 10 hectares of grounds. Modern recreation, swimming and sanitary facilities should ensure an enjoyable naturist stay.
